This church was rebuilt in the 16th century, although construction began in 1500 on the site of a previous church that, like most, was demolished. The Gothic-Isabelline north portal was designed by Alonso Barba, a disciple of Andrés de Vandelvira, architect of Jaén Cathedral. His project was delayed due to a lack of funding and was not completed until the 17th century. This church was declared a National Monument in 1972.

What a spectacular structure we see today, it has survived the passage of time and the attacks of its inhabitants, not without a few historical vicissitudes. Most likely of Muslim origin, its history begins in the 13th century, until the withdrawal of the French in 1812 left the fortress almost destroyed. Due to numerous reconstructions, it can be visited today, although, understandably, only a small part of what it was in its day of greatest splendor remains.

A potter recognized by the city is undoubtedly "Paco Tito," who has established himself as a great creator of clay-related art, reaching levels that would be difficult for any ordinary person to surpass. Thus, the city, in recognition of this local artist, created the museum that bears his name.

In 1978, a space in the convent of San Miguel was converted into a museum dedicated to Saint John of the Cross, displaying artifacts related to his life and work. We also find a perfect adaptation of the house where the saint and poet lived.

Built in 1587, it is in the Baroque architectural style and dedicated to Christian worship. Its interior features a Latin cross layout with three naves, and the main altar features contemporary paintings alluding to the Archangel Saint Michael. Although it may seem strange, it is the only building in the town erected in honor of the patron saint of Ubeda.

This iconic street was made pedestrian-only several years ago to enhance the city center, where shops are concentrated offering visitors a variety of products, from prized Extra Virgin olive oil to ceramics and other objects.

The administration responsible for this area decided to invest a few euros in sprucing up a small rest area for users of the bike path connecting the towns of Úbeda and Baeza with this proposal, which includes metal bicycle racks, several trees for shade, and some benches for resting. Unfortunately, what's missing is a water fountain for cooling off or refilling water containers, but otherwise, it's very good.

In the province of Jaén, there are many olive oil mills established as cooperatives that produce, process, and export the different types of oils obtained from the olive milling process. These oils are classified into categories that are typically sold directly to consumers or exported to countries within the European Union, which enjoy the privileges that this premium oil provides.

We are standing on a footbridge built to cross the A-316 highway over the bike lane that connects the World Heritage towns of Úbeda and Baeza. This footbridge, authorized exclusively for bicycles and pedestrians, avoids a dangerous crossing to reach the other side of the road, which, incidentally, is a major artery with a lot of traffic.

This viewpoint is located on the Paseo de la Muralla (walled walkway) and very close to the Bullring. It offers views of the entire Guadalquivir River valley, the Sierra de Mágina mountain range with Aznaitín peak, and behind it, Almadén. In the background, to the right, we can see the city of Jaén with its castle as a lookout tower.

We are looking at the best-preserved gate in the Baeza wall, called the Úbeda Gate because it faces the important neighboring town. This gate originally had three arches next to the well-known Albarrana Tower, where the so-called parade ground once stood.

This emblematic street in Baeza was laid out on part of the old wall that surrounded the city, becoming definitively configured in 1714, and throughout its existence, it has been an important backbone of the city of Baeza.

Baeza is located in the province of Jaén, home to some of the world's finest olive oil. The town rises from a vast olive grove, and along its cobblestone streets are some of the best-preserved Renaissance buildings in Europe. It's no coincidence that this remarkable ensemble, along with the neighboring town of Úbeda, has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This journey through time is not to be missed.

This is the old entrance gate to the walled city whose name is logically "Puerta de Úbeda", as it was the closest gate to that city.

The reservoir is also known as Mar de La Loma and is located in the Guadalquivir Basin where the famous Ariza Bridge from the 16th century is submerged inside. Currently there is a tourist jetty, bathing and fishing areas.
