The Hermitage of Our Lady of Villar is one of the most emblematic sites in Laguna de Duero, both for its religious significance and its natural and scenic surroundings. Great bronze with impressive details

Formerly a military building with an impressive facade

Statue built to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Columbus' arrival in America. The bronze plaques depict scenes from his life. The statue was originally supposed to be erected in Havana, Cuba, but this was canceled due to Cuba's independence from Spain and local unrest. Valladolid was chosen instead, as the city is also the place of Columbus' death. The banner "NON PLUS ULTRA" is scratched by a lion, symbolically damaging the word "NON". "PLUS ULTRA" is the national motto of Spain and means "Always Onward".

Museum in the house where Miguel Cervantes, author of Don Quixote, lived during his time in Valladolid. There is an exhibition, a library and some rooms that have been authentically furnished as they would have been in Cervantes' time. There is a beautifully landscaped garden and lots to discover.
