Starting around 1560, Celle's town hall was built by master masons Jakob Rieß and Frederic Soltersborg from Salzburg, incorporating Gothic elements from a previous building. The central eastern gable dates from 1562, and the northern decorative gable dates from 1579. The building underwent numerous additions and modifications in the following centuries: a simple brick structure, the so-called "Wedding House," was added between 1580 and 1593, and the courtroom porch dates from 1599. A loft at the southern end was added at the beginning of the 17th century. A neoclassical remodeling followed in 1785, and in 1938 the building was extended by two axes to the south. Very nice for a bike path along a main road. However, for those sensitive to noise, I recommend the dirt road route through the forest. This is only slightly longer, easily navigable in dry weather, and the road noise is inaudible.

A leisurely bike ride to the Beerenhof Alps farm leads along well-maintained bike paths through a charming landscape. The farm is a popular destination, especially during berry season, and offers fresh berries and homemade cakes and gateaux. Those who wish can take a detour via Wienhausen on the way back for a break – ideal for an ice cream or a short stroll through the historic town center. This tour combines nature, exercise, and culinary delights and is perfect for a relaxing excursion.

If possible, do not drive there by car on the very bad residential road and end up parking in a no-parking zone, but start the hike in the beautiful town or come by bike, which is the most beautiful anyway

Very nice cycle path, with great asphalt...also suitable for racing bikes. Especially beautiful in late summer when the ferns have grown tall along the edge.👍
