In the village of Villar de Olmos, there is a traditional fountain with a washhouse that, when built in the early 20th century, was the main source of water for the inhabitants before running water reached the village. It still flows today.

There is not much to look at in the palace (or castle).

Requena was considered a "frontier square" between the Muslim kingdom of Valencia and the kingdom of Castile, from almost the end of the twelfth century.

The Castle is located on the promontory that dominates the city, and is built on a large rock. Currently, only its Torre de l'Homenatge survives, which is part of the original Muslim fortress, which was built in ashlar stone, and built with mortar until it was replaced by the current one in 1423. The castle is 'it was in the middle of two large towers, with battlements and embankments. It had a drawbridge over an already blinded moat. It served a variety of uses, from a knight's residence to a prison. The tower is currently restored and its interior is diaphanous, and digital explanations can be seen. The Universal Monument at La Verema de Requena, the only one that exists in the west, is the work of the architect Ricardo Rosso and the sculptor Esteve Edo. The first phase of the monument was inaugurated on August 30, 1972, almost 20 years after the foundation stone was laid. The monument, eighteen meters high, is composed of a lower body with a fountain in the center and two staircases that give access to the second section. This consists of a square base on which rise six smooth columns finished with a frieze, a cornice and two pinnacles. Over the years, different decorative elements have been placed such as the couple of grape harvesters, the coats of arms of Requena, the Generalitat Valenciana and the OIV (International Organization of Wine), the Virgin of the Vineyards and finally the three friezes of bronze, located in the lower part, with allegorical scenes of the harvest.
