Marialinden is a district of Overath in the Rheinisch-Bergischen district, which was first mentioned in a document in 1515. The document mentions the renaming of the place from Sevenlynden (Siebenlinden) to Marialynden. The original name goes back to seven linden trees in the middle of the town. The street “An den Sieben Linden” opposite the church is reminiscent of the former name. The landmark of the Marian pilgrimage site, which is still in use today, is the pilgrimage church of St. Mary's Visitation with its 2 towers on the Pilgersr, which can be seen from afar.

At the idyllic Marienbrunnen in front of the church, several benches invite you to take a short breather.
