Piornal is the highest village in Extremadura and one of the best natural viewpoints for viewing the cherry blossoms. It also offers its own organized routes during the Cherry Blossom Festival. The most well-documented route starting directly from Piornal is the one organized by the Jerte Valley Sports Promotion Association. It's a circular route that passes through some of the most beautiful landscapes:

You reach the sign from the Garganta la Olla mountain pass, which is about 15 km long, with an average elevation gain of 800 m at a 5% gradient. The historic monastery on the outskirts of the town of Cuacos de Yuste is the last resting place of Emperor Charles V. The Monastery of Yuste was originally built in 1407 and was rebuilt and expanded over the centuries.

This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and impressive waterfalls in the Piornal region. The Caozo waterfall is a wonderful place where you can appreciate nature at its best. It can be reached from Valdastillas following the marked route PR-CC 32.

It is internationally recognized as it was the last resting place of Emperor Carlos V, so it is loaded with history and culture.
