The Hermitage of Our Lady of the Angels is located on the Camino de la Trucha, which runs parallel to the Alhama or Marchán River, at the foot of the impressive Alhama Cliffs. There are two routes to reach the hermitage from the village. One is a wide dirt road that begins at the school, and another, which we liked the most, leads through one of the most beautiful places in Alhama. It begins at the old Pérez cinema, passes through the flour mills, and passes through some washhouses carved into the rock itself.

An absolute must-see. The Summer Palace is especially worth a visit.

The Castillo de Alhama de Granada is a historic castle located in the centre of Alhama de Granada, near the Iglesia del Carmen. This castle was built on the foundations of an old Arab alcazaba (fortress) and has a rich history dating back to the Moorish period. The castle played an important role during the Reconquista, the reconquest of Spain by the Christian kingdoms. In February 1482, the castle was conquered by the troops of the Catholic Monarchs, Ferdinand and Isabella. After the conquest, the castle was fortified to prevent the Moors from reconquering it. The castle is now an important cultural and historical monument in Alhama de Granada. Although it is privately owned and not open to the public, it remains a recognisable and iconic building in the city, with its striking red colour

The Iglesia del Carmen, also known as the Convento del Carmen, is a historic monastery and church in Alhama de Granada. Construction of the church began in 1589 and was completed in 1619. The monastery was originally inhabited by the Carmelitas Calzados, an order of Carmelite monks. The church has a Latin cross plan with side altars and a choir at the back. The interior is richly decorated with Baroque elements, including a rococo camarín (chapel) with a dome decorated with geometric and vegetal shapes. The church also has a crypt that was used as a cemetery. During the French invasion and the Spanish Civil War, the church suffered considerable damage, but many of the original architectural features remain.

Easy hike in an impressive gorge.

The Embalse y Presa Los Bermejales is a reservoir and dam in the Sierra de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama and is an interesting tourist attraction in the region. The reservoir is located near the village of Alhama de Granada, south of the Sierra. It is a great destination for nature lovers as well as for outdoor activities such as cycling. The region around the reservoir offers a mixture of Mediterranean vegetation and mountain landscapes. The area is ideal for more challenging cycling tours.

The Dolmen de Los Bermejales is a megalithic tomb located near the Los Bermejales reservoir. This dolmen is part of a necropolis, a burial place from the Neolithic and Bronze Ages. It was discovered in 1964 when the water level of the reservoir dropped, and was subsequently moved to be preserved. The dolmen consists of a corridor with two doors that divides the room into three sections. It is approximately 9.45 meters long, 2 meters wide and 1.80 meters high. During the excavations, ceramics, copper, bones and four skulls were found.

It is located in the municipality of Arenas del Rey and is fed by the rivers and streams of the Sierra de Almijara mountains. The reservoir was completed in 1958 and has a capacity of approximately 104 million cubic meters of water. With beautiful views of the natural surroundings.
