From the indicated point you can't see any water, but drive along a narrow road with lots of palm trees. It's quite nice to drive and when we drove there there was little traffic. Bird watching is better on the southern bank.

The path to the observation hut is quite uneven, but it is just about passable when the ground is dry. We saw lots of flamingos and other smaller birds - well worth seeing!

The Pink Lagoon of Torrevieja “Laguna Salada de Torrevieja” is one of the two famous salt lagoons in the Parque Natural de las Lagunas de La Mata y Torrevieja. It is particularly known for its unusual pink color, which is due to the interaction of special types of algae and microorganisms. These microorganisms produce a reddish pigment that intensifies in certain lighting conditions and gives the lagoon its characteristic color. A visit at sunrise or sunset intensifies the pink tones even more, so that the lagoon glows in intense colors.

10월 18, 2024, Cuevas del Rodeo
The El Rodeo caves were dug out of the slope of a raised area between the 18th and 20th centuries to create housing. They were built by experienced miners who moved to Rojales specifically for this project. Their knowledge undoubtedly made it possible to create this special urban landscape! The El Rodeo caves are now home to craft businesses and there is even a collection on the history of these caves.

Quiet, asphalted road, lined with palm groves. You are in the Parc Natural del Fondo, but if you want to see water, you have to do the entire circuit. On the western and southern banks you drive closer to the water and there are observation towers there. Nice, relaxed tour.

The lagoon is located within the Natural Park of the same name. It is a very nice and quiet place, an alternative to the beach and the sea. You will be able to go all the way around on paths with a good surface and practically without any unevenness. You can also find several towers and shelters for bird watching.

2월 6, 2022, Cuevas del Rodeo
The Cuevas del Rodeo is a group of caves. They were excavated in the 18th and 19th centuries by Murcian miners who, thanks to their skill as stonemasons, built their dwellings in the rock, creating a veritable underground urban fabric that would later house generations of Rojales residents until the early 20th century. (Source: www.rojales.es) Today the caves serve as galleries for artists of various art movements. On the first Sunday of every month, the artists open their cuevas for an "Open Day".
