The Hervidero Waterfall is a double waterfall on the Guadalix River, nestled in a rocky canyon and surrounded by riverside vegetation. It can be reached via a flat and easy 7 km (round trip) route starting from San Agustín del Guadalix, ideal for family hikes.

Although tradition attributes it a Roman origin, the bridge was built in the Middle Ages. It takes its name from an old fulling mill upstream, although in the 16th century it also began to be known as the New Bridge. It probably received this name after some remodelling, following a possible flood. A branch of the Cañada Real Segoviana, a livestock route of approximately 500 km, which links the current provinces of Burgos and Badajoz, passes over the Batán bridge.

Of great beauty and easy to access (be careful, there are some winding stairs) they are one of these little-known corners of Madrid. In the bed of the Guadalix River and almost at the mouth of its spectacular canyon, the waterfall depends on the opening of the reservoir, upstream, which guarantees water flow practically all year round.

We walked wide and well-footed, perfect for riding and training, little shade. And some roads end in farms where you can't connect with the main road, look before moving there.
