Next to the Xanascat hostel in Deltebre and on the side of the T-340 road, there is this fresh water fountain that is perfect for hydrating and making a logistical stop. There is also shade and a place to sit.

The Zigurat Viewpoint is the highest observation point in the Ebro Delta, located in Riumar, at the mouth of the Ebro River. From this viewpoint, you can enjoy privileged views of Buda Island, the El Garxal lagoon, and the mountains of the Els Ports Natural Park. This viewpoint is known for its wooden platform and strategic location, offering a unique perspective of the Ebro Delta. The route to the viewpoint is easy and recommended for families, as it presents no major technical difficulties.

There is a viewpoint... and the view is fantastic

There is no mirador here, but you can often see flamingos from the side of the road.

In addition to the flamingos, the rice fields are the second special feature of the Ebro Delta.

There’s a parking and observation hut here. I was lucky to see hundreds of flamingos. I’m not sure if they are always there, but I assume the tourist installation would suggest that they are pretty much a permanent feature.

You are supposed to walk round the laid-out path which is 1.6Km. As I was in November, I rode slowly round, but with more tourists that would be impossible. There was very little wildlife to see when I was there, but it’s definitely worth a stop.
