A village with a great old town!

A beautiful place in the old town! There are bars where you can take a break.

The Plaza Mayor of La Alberca is incredibly beautiful in each of its corners. It is located right in the center of the town, dominated by an 18th century transept and surrounded by arcades with very beautiful facades and balconies full of flowers.

There are 15 fields near La Alberca that hide remains of cave paintings. Although, as its name makes us think, the predominant figure in this field is goats, other animals and even human figures are also painted.

The Batuecas monastery, or San José Desert, is occupied by the Order of the Discalced Carmelites. It is located in a privileged environment, right in the Las Batuecas valley and next to the river of the same name. It is one of the most emblematic places in the natural park.

With its peak at 1,414 meters above sea level, the views from Peña Huevo are worthy of a postcard. You can appreciate the beautiful landscape of the Batuecas and Sierra de Francia Natural Park in all its splendor and I recommend you go up here on a clear day with good visibility.

The top of Peña Carbonera at 1505 masl is very close to the top of Peña Huevo and it is worth making the detour to get here, the views are really beautiful. Right here is also the Carbonera Refuge.
