"Madres Carmelitas Descalzas" means "Discalced Carmelites" or "Teresian Carmelites" in German, a contemplative Catholic religious order of women that originated through the reform of Santa Teresa of Ávila and San Juan de la Cruz in the 16th century, known for their simple life and deep spirituality in cloistered monasteries, also in Germany.

The market (Mercadillo) of Caudiel takes place mainly on Friday mornings in the Plaza de España (sometimes also referred to as Plaza Nueva), usually from about 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, and offers a variety of stalls selling food, clothing and household goods in a traditional atmosphere.

This charming village with over 1,600 inhabitants has a very charming center, beautiful historic buildings, and charming steep alleys. Jerica is located in the Valencian Community in the province of Castellón at an altitude of 523 meters.
