At the start of the gravel road, there's a sign prohibiting bicycles, but further down you'll see a bicycle path sign, which should be okay. However, there's a sign there indicating when the mouflon hunt is, so be sure to pay attention to that.

Mount Izaña is the highest point on Tenerife's main road. It is also right around the corner from the impressive observatory, one of the largest in the world. You can book tickets to visit the observatory, but it is also very interesting to see from a distance.

Incredible views of the 2251 m high, with the unmistakable silhouette of the Teide peak on the horizon, above the clouds. If you want to continue with the trail, you can go down to the road, to the east slope of the Yegua Blanca Mountain, and continue along the Igueque Mountain trail (S-17).

The Órganos Climbing Trail is truly a spectacular circuit. Our highlight of this quite strenuous hike, which starts at 1,200m, was the absolutely spectacular view of the Teide from the highest point of the tour, the Portillo El Topo (1,580m). The wildly romantic mountain trail (Camino Forestal) also offers varied mountain fun. It leads into the world of gorges and rocks above the famous "organ pipes" and provides magnificent views of the Orotava Valley and again and again of Mount Teide. However, it can also be classified as an (alpine) mountain path (partly with climbing aids); Sturdy hiking shoes are obligatory, a head for heights is required. Then this hike through the lichen-covered pine forest with blooming flora and chirping and humming fauna is a spectacular event.
