The amount of water this river carries is always surprising.

Puente Mayor over the Pisuerga River is of medieval origin. We can see the small islands in the river and the castle hill.

The Aguilar reservoir, inaugurated in 1964, plays a crucial role in regulating the Pisuerga River. With a height of 48 meters and a length of half a kilometer, the dam is one of the largest in the area. It is part of a set of three reservoirs and is considered a tourist attraction thanks to the "Ruta de los Pantanos".

From this point you can see the Aguilar de Campoo Reservoir. It is an impressive piece of engineering but it was quite controversial due to its negative consequences for the ecosystem of the area.

Aguilar de Campoo is worth a visit. Not only is it a beautiful place to visit, but it has incredible architecture, including the very old Castillo de Aguilar de Campoo, but also the highest concentration of Romanesque monuments in all of Europe.

Locality located in the UNESCO World Geopark "Las Loras", in the Protected Space of Las Tuerces. Several large manor houses are still to be found.

There are many things to see in Aguilar de Campoo. Apart from having several biscuit factories, it is also the town of the Romanesque, of the manor houses, shields and coats of arms. In fact, this town and its surroundings are home to the highest concentration of Romanesque monuments in all of Europe.
