The Jerte River rises in the Gredos mountain range and flows through the impressive valley of the same name in northern Extremadura. Along its way, it feeds gorges, natural pools, and lush forests, becoming a true oasis, especially in spring, when cherry blossoms cover the landscape.

Spectacular waterfall. There's a walkway that allows you to see it practically from above.

If you pass by here, it may be one of your obligatory stops. This spa on the banks of the Jerte River offers you everything you need to rest and regain energy. There is a camping area and a hostel next to the building.

The path from the Cascada Caozo is a partly very steep mountain path with very few cairns and is densely overgrown. The pool at the Cascada Calderon invites you to swim.

The Jerte is a river from Cáceres that gives its name to the valley through which it passes. The 11 towns that make up the Valle del Jerte commonwealth are located on both banks of the river, which runs a total of about 70 kilometres. This point is ideal to relax under the shade of the trees listening to the sound of the water.

There are several beautiful trails that take you from Jerte to the Collado de las Losas. This is one of them and it's really nice.

The picturesque path that leads to this waterfall is worth the trip, but this does not rule out the beauty of the Cascada del Calderón.
