The Hermitage of the Holy Spirit is a chapel located in Eljas. The Hermitage of the Holy Spirit occupies the central nave of what until 1977 was the parish church of Nuestra Señora de la Consolación. When they rebuilt the parish in 1935-1936, they included within their space the site of an old hermitage that, dedicated to the Holy Spirit, dated from the 16th century.

San Martín de Trevejo is a Spanish municipality in the province of Cáceres, in the autonomous community of Extremadura. It is located in the extreme northwest, in the Sierra de Gata region, very close to the Portuguese border and the province of Salamanca. It is located in a valley at the foot of Mount Jálama. Its inhabitants are mañegas and mañegus, and their peculiar speech or “A Fala” is called “Mañegu”. It has been listed as One of the Most Beautiful Towns in Spain since 2019.

This old bridge marks the beginning of the ascent to Valverde del Fresno. It is not a long or hard climb, but a steady climb until you reach the center.

Climb the Sierra de Santa Olalla and at 685 masl arrive at the ruins of a small chapel and incredible views of the Cilleros valley landscape below.

A historic town dating back to Roman times, Cilleros is one of the largest towns in the Sierra de Gata. Located on the fertile agricultural plains of the Alagón River and the Sierras de Villuercas and Gata, the town is a natural gateway to adventures on both the Vía de la Plata and Vía Dalmacia.
