The Faro de Portmán was originally built in 1865 to ensure safe navigation along the Costa Cálida. The coast is partly rocky and has historically been dangerous for navigation, especially during periods of heavy shipping traffic when mining was carried out in the region. The lighthouse stands on a rocky hill at the entrance to the bay of Portmán, a former mining and fishing village, and offers picturesque views of the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding coastal landscapes. The Faro de Portmán is a beautiful destination for a tour. Due to its elevated position, the Faro de Portmán offers excellent views over the sea and the rugged coastline. In good weather, large parts of the Mediterranean coast and the surrounding hills can be seen from here.

There is a car park at the corner of RM-314 and RM-F42, from where you can cross the RM-314 to get to the Batería. It is highly recommended to take the RM-314. The climb is strenuous but picturesque.

Nice view from Faro. I was there on December 29th. with overcast skies and only 15 degrees here. Nevertheless, I found this stretch of coast attractive. The paths are easy to manage.

The presence of the remains of this Roman road denotes the importance of Cabo de Palos in the ancient world thanks to metallurgical and salting exploitation. The section is short, but very interesting.

The Mirador de las Cenizas is one of the most spectacular coastal viewpoints in the Murcia region. It is located in the Calblanque Nature Reserve and offers unique views of the Mediterranean Sea and the rugged coastline. The Mirador contains the remains of old military installations from the early 20th century. Two large, abandoned coastal guns from the Spanish Civil War are still on site and are a reminder of the region's historic defensive position. These guns, also known as the "Batería de las Cenizas", were once used to protect the coast from attacks and invasions. Today they are an attraction and a popular photo opportunity at the Mirador. Very beautiful stretch of road that offers fantastic views of the Cartagena coast. A great region with many options for tours.

It is a narrow path that connects the battery of La Chapa with that of Las Cenizas. The shade of the pine forest that it crosses is appreciated, especially on hot days. Currently, the trail that connects both batteries near the coast is cut off by landslides.

It has a height of 8 meters reaching the focal plane a height of 49 meters above sea level. The lighthouse is built on the ruins of the Torre de San Gil, reusing part of its materials. It came into operation on January 31, 1865. Enjoy the spectacular views from here.
