Cómpeta is a beautiful mountain village with approximately 3,800 inhabitants in the province of Málaga in Andalusia. It lies directly on one of the former main roads of the Sierra de Granada and can be reached by car from the town of Torrox via a tranquil mountain road. The town is fascinating due to its sheltered location in the mountains, its many winding streets, and its charming white houses. The Arabs lived in what is now Cómpeta for many centuries and shaped the townscape. This viewpoint is located just before reaching the town of Cómpeta. On clear days you can see the coast of Nerja and Torrox.

We start the route to climb Lucero (1774 m) in Puerto Blanquillo, after traveling an unpaved road for 12 km. It is recommended to take a car with high suspension to avoid problems. In Puerto Blanquillo, there is no car park as such. We will simply leave the car parked on the side of the road and start the route from there. We will do the route in a circular way, making the descent through the Puerto del Daire. However, it is also possible to return by the same path that you ascended. The distance is the same.
