At the Abbey of Saint-Savin, a sight you'll never tire of awaits: the Gartempe River flowing gently past the ancient stone walls, and the medieval Pont de Saint-Savin spanning the river, with the abbey in the background. A magnificent view! The combination of water, bridge, and Romanesque architecture makes this a perfect oasis. Take a moment to sit on the banks.

very beautiful walk nevertheless very steep, the path leading to the unfinished dam is not maintained, watch out for nettles 🙂

Small local craft shop, worth a visit in the village of Angles-sur-l'Anglin. Many items, there is also an old fire water pump from the 19th century I think. The visit is essential, and the occupants are very friendly during our visit.

As Jacques' pictures show, there are no spectacular highlights to be found here, but Paul put it very aptly with "A place where you can linger". Exactly the right place for the hiker, who can interrupt his tour here to linger a little and will certainly enjoy it.
