Superb tour, with truly incredible views! Be careful though, almost a third of the hike is on the road (up to 80 km/h without any real walking space) and one of the paths is difficult to access and view if it has rained a lot 😉

Located on the property of Blaignan Castle, the Blaignan castle motte is an intriguing historical site. It marks the location of the first village of Blaignan and a medieval castle. Although its remains are mostly invisible today, buried under a grove, the mound reveals an artificial profile characteristic of medieval constructions. Legends speak of a tunnel once connecting the fortress to Isle Abbey, adding a mysterious touch to this place steeped in history.

Especially from the observation tower you have a fantastic view of the entire nature reserve. Individual cows and a variety of birds stroll leisurely through the swamp landscape. You have to walk the last 500m and leave your bike behind. But there are good options for parking your bike. The walk is definitely worth it!!!!

Montalivet-les-Bains is a seaside resort in the Médoc region in the Gironde department on France's Atlantic coast. Together with Vendays, which is a little inland, it forms the municipality of Vendays-Montalivet. The seaside resort with a sandy beach only comes alive during the season, which lasts from June to September. Montalivet has two campsites and a camper place. With the facilities of the CHM-Montalivet and the Euronat, located a little to the north in the area of the municipality of Grayan-et-l'Hôpital, it is a center of French and international naturist tourism.
