A beautiful place that is definitely worth visiting. It was pouring with rain when we were there, but it was still great - the rain always passes quickly

On the archaeological site there are houses which have been dug into soft rock, partly linked to stone extraction activities. Today there are only around ten troglodyte houses left in approximately good condition in the town nicknamed “the village of a hundred troglodyte houses”. There are also cathedral cellars, the miraculous spring and the remains of a 15th century house.

This greenway cycle route begins in St Nazaire en Royans. The crossing of Romans can be improved but the walk is nice.

Beautiful, winding cycle route, with different landscapes, and some short climbs. It joins the ViaRhôna at Pont de l'Isère.

The name Bourg-de-Péage comes from the duties that were levied on goods at the southern entrance to the bridge. At the Pogne Pascalis museum, a famous brioche dating from the Middle Ages, it is possible to visit the workshops where Pognes and St-Genix are made and taste them. Also worth seeing is Maison Favor, dating from 1830.

Well known for its shoe industry, Romans-sur-Isère was first one of the most important towns in the Dauphiné. Its historic center has many buildings from the 15th and 16th centuries testifying to its past as a medieval city. Its architecture gives a large place to the molasse stone characterized by its ocher colors.
