The Niffer Lock is an impressive lock on the Rhône-Rhine Canal created by the Franco-Swiss architect Le Corbusier. It allows you to cross the canal and continue on the EuroVelo 6 route between the Atlantic and the Black Sea.

The new lock at Niffer, built in the 1990s, replaces the Le Corbusier lock just south of it. It also makes the canal navigable for larger ships as far as Mulhouse. For cyclists and pedestrians there is one of the few ways to change sides of the canal in the form of a bridge.
