The pond has been drained for some time now, as of July 25, and looks rather desolate. Only a small trickle of water runs through the dry lake bed. What a pity.

The Alemannic half-timbered house "Haus am Markt" dates back to around 1400 and was restored between 1978 and 1981. Most of the original timber framing was preserved. The historic half-timbered house "Ecklädele" was built in 1581 using a mortise and tenon construction. This construction method required less wood than the Alemannic half-timbering and was also considered safer, especially with regard to fire hazards. The house was owned by various master craftsmen for a long time, with shoemakers in particular said to have practiced their trade here. Beautifully paved cycle path on which you can cycle for kilometres in a relaxed manner. It goes past meadows and fields where storks also settle.

A meadow hiking trail runs along the renaturalized Schwarzach. You can also observe various birds there.

Bad Saulgau has many half-timbered houses worth seeing.
