Point of intersection Col du Jaillet Altitude 1723m The Col de Jaillet, or Col du Jaillet, is a pass located in the Aravis chain, separating the communes of Giettaz (Savoie), Sallanches and Cordon (Haute-Savoie). The pass was frequented very early, from Antiquity2, as evidenced by the presence of a border marker (just like the markers of the Col de l'Avenaz, and that of the Col du Petit Croisse Baulet3) marking the limit between the province of Graean Alps and the Viennese province4. A tiny cabin at an altitude of 1915m, located about a 20-minute walk slightly southeast of the Col de Niard (1801m) towards Croise Baulet. The cabin is divided into two: a closed section on the left is reserved for shepherds during the summer pasture season. The other section, on the right, consists of a simple room with a door, a window, and a bench that runs the length of the cabin. A folding table is attached to the wall. No other furniture inside. The cabin is completely empty. Sleeping space on the floor (clean, wooden slats) is available for up to 2 people. It's very small! There is a large wooden table outside in front of the cabin.
