The Marquèze Ecomuseum was created in 1969 by the Landes de Gascogne Regional Natural Park. It is one of the very first eco-museums in France. Its mission is to preserve, study and transmit the heritage of the Grande Lande by reconstructing the living environment of its inhabitants in the 19th century.

The birthplace of Félix Arnaudin, a pioneer in ethnography. He was a photographer who took pictures of people, places, landscapes and nature.

Superb church to see

Very nice open air museums. Only accessible by train. Unfortunately not much information in German, but at least a guide map.

The church of Sainte-Eugénie stands in the village formed in 1863, after the Battle of Napoleon III. was named. Through a large-scale forest, the area should be drained and subsequently used industrially. The Atlantic Ocean is 24 km away.
