At the end of winter, the path stops with the level of the lake which cuts the road and does not allow you to go to the end. But it doesn't matter, it's always nice to go for a little walk

There would have existed, centuries ago, a rich and prosperous city called Herbauges where debauchery and lust reigned however. The city showed itself so resistant to the faith that God, at the request of Saint Martin who evangelized the region, made it disappear under the waters which thus gave the Lake of Grand-Lieu. Only a couple and their son, who had welcomed the saint, were warned by the Almighty of the imminent catastrophe. Fleeing with the religious, the family nevertheless received the order not to turn around. The woman and her son could not resist the temptation to look away towards the city, so, it is said, they were changed into stone statues for eternity.
