The Touffou Forest is a small green lung in the Nantes metropolitan area. In 1977, the Department acquired 47 of the 230 hectares of this forest, located in Vertou, and opened it to the public. Once a hunting ground for the Dukes of Brittany and a source of income thanks to forestry, the Touffou Forest covered more than 6,000 hectares in the 16th century. Fording depends on the water level of the river. Very nice place for lunch or a picnic.

So far, I've only visited this place in winter (at night). So, I wasn't able to get the best view of this small park.

Rivers and canals run through the country, and the latter in particular were a very important part of the transport infrastructure in earlier times. Later, first the railways and then again later trucks took over the task of transporting goods.
