The Habert de Chamechaude is located at the foot of Chamechaude, the highest peak in the Chartreuse. Here you will find a peaceful alpine refuge and an excellent starting point for your hike to Chamechaude. Historically, the Habert was a resting place for shepherds and today offers a peaceful escape into nature.

A magnificent refuge with a superb view of Grenoble and its surroundings.

Beautiful little unguarded cabin accessible all year round except during the summer season when it is reserved for shepherds. Dominated by the Chamechaude, it offers a beautiful view of the highest point of the Chartreuse.

Very nice descent on the mountainside. Peaceful single with a gentle slope. But the pins nevertheless remain technical

Refuge with rudimentary comfort but with a warm welcome and the food is very good!

The climb ⛰ via the single on the left (facing the Manival cone) further raises the level🥇 and is more pleasant than the forest path on the right

The Jean Collet refuge is a historic place: there has indeed been a refuge at this location since 1910! The current refuge dates back to 1928, but it was completely renovated at the end of the 1980s. It is a superb place, pleasant and warm, where it is really good to stop after a day spent on the trails. Without forgetting the superb panorama that we have on Grésivaudan, Chartreuse and Vercors.

If you pass by here in the middle of summer, you will surely see a lot of children running around! The Pré de l'Arc colony is a holiday camp for young people aged 6 to 17. The colony has a so-called "green" chalet, which is autonomous in water and electricity and which aims to teach children to respect the environment.
