Nice little stop in the middle of the forest. Most people came by car though. Luckily not on my forest road.

Located at an altitude of 1,500 meters at the Col de l'Arzelier, the Soldanelle refuge was built in 1968. Its terrace offers a breathtaking view of the valley. More than 10 years after our last visit, we still eat there as well!

Unguarded cabin which can accommodate eight people but there is no water nearby (the nearest springs are approximately 1h00 - 1h30 walk away). The cabin is equipped with a table and a wood stove.

Good place for a stopover and lunch or coffee. We were able to fill our water bottles.
