During the German occupation in World War II, the Scherwiller synagogue was used as a camp for Polish forced laborers. The remaining Jewish residents of the town were deported to southern France in 1940. According to Yad Vashem, thirteen former residents fell victim to the Final Solution.

The Silver Star is one of Europe's largest and tallest steel roller coasters, beckoning you to thrilling highs. At 73 meters high, with a top speed of up to 130 km/h and enormous centrifugal forces of up to 4 g, it promises a special combination of sensation, speed, and weightlessness, while simultaneously representing a technological quantum leap.

The original building was built in 1844/45, but at that time it did not have a turret. This was only added in 1892. In 1989 the building was demolished due to its age and rebuilt in its original dimensions. The preserved tower was added to the new building and the facade was adapted to the modern era.
