The Saar Canal (formerly: Saar-Kohlen-Kanal, French Canal des Houillères de la Sarre) is a shipping canal that runs in the French region of Grand Est. As is generally the case with the French canal network, the Saar Canal was also a prerequisite for a much-frequented cycle path. The towpath next to the canal has been expanded into a mostly well-paved cycle path in recent years with funds from the European Union, the regional council and the municipalities.

The Bliesmühle (French Moulin de la Blies) is located in Saargemünd in the French department of Moselle. The former stone mill was built in 1841 on the Blies, a tributary of the Saar, and is now a museum for stoneware production techniques. The Bliesmühle was built in 1841 by Alexandre de Geiger and was in operation from then until 1969. The mill was used to produce the raw material for earthenware. The material was used for the faience of Saargemünd. In 1990 the mill was bought by the city of Saargemünd and in 1998 it was converted into a museum for earthenware techniques. In 2009, the museum's gardens were opened to the public.
