Founded in 1989 and covering a spacious 700,000 square meters, the "Parc Archéologique Européen de Bliesbruck – Reinheim" doesn't just have the word "European" in its name because it sounds so nice and is intended to be effective advertising, but is in fact a piece of living Europe. Here, something magnificent has been created across borders, as the site extends partly into French territory and another part is located in Germany. The comprehensive exhibition thus not only takes visitors back to the Celtic and Roman past of the region, but also indirectly demonstrates the present and future of peaceful coexistence in Europe, for which national borders are no longer an insurmountable obstacle. This fascinating Gallo-Roman villa was discovered in 1967 by a villager. It is worth a visit during an outing in the Grosswald forest.
