Griaz Chapel From the 16th to the 18th century, the inhabitants of each hamlet built a chapel, a sacred place where they invoked saints to protect them from possible epidemics and natural hazards. The village of Griaz was one of the most important in the valley in the 16th and 17th centuries: in 1561 there were 99 households there. The chapel was built in 1643 under the patronage of the Virgin and Saint Joseph.
