Nice, but go in dry weather.

The Gabie Bridge spans the Vienne River between Verneuil-sur-Vienne and Saint-Priest-sous-Aixe. Built in the 19th century from granite, it replaced an ancient Gallo-Roman bridge located a few hundred meters downstream. The site, classified as a natural area of ecological interest, offers beautiful access to the river for a peaceful break.

Château de Losmonerie was built in 1540 by Jean Chantais, it has a beautifully decorated interior and guided tours are available. The gardens are also impressive with distinct gardens: the French garden, the gourmet garden and the wild garden on the banks of the Vienne.

Château de la Borie is a 17th century castle with beautiful gardens and a contemporary art gallery. Its corner turrets mark it as different on the way.

From here it would only be 500m to the source,... but in the heat of July 2022 we preferred to drive further.

Rue du Petit Bontemps Avenue de Limoges, Impasse de Beau Vallon, this pond is a former submerged quarry. In the 1980s the site came to an end. Several projects were built during the construction of the sports complex, located above. For various reasons the latter could not succeed, hence the decision to put it in water. It served some fishing times. Comments collected from the town hall, thank you to the person who took a little of his time to tell the story.

Once the sources of the Dronne have been reached, the reward for the long climb to the Sommet des Cars follows - a long descent.
