Unfortunately we didn't have enough time, but a stay of several days here is certainly nice and relaxing.

Le Mont Dore is a small town located in the Auvergne region. This is the Dordogne valley and several kilometers further down the valley from the resort of Sancy. It has also been a renowned spa resort since the 19th century. Its mineral-rich waters are used for medical and wellness treatments. This city is also home to interesting historical buildings, such as the Saint-Michel church and the casino.

Entirely renovated since 2015, the thermal baths of Mont-Dore are a place of serenity immersed in the heart of the charming city center. Classified in the register of Historic Monuments, the buildings respond to a neo-Byzantine style. In the city of dark stones drawn from the volcanic mountains, the architecture stands out.

Extremely calm place at the confluence of the Dordogne and one of its tributaries, at the most upstream point of the reservoir of the Bort-les-Orgues dam. Once at the bottom, you have to go back up and the coast towards Confolent-Port-Dieu offers a nice drop in altitude and fairly high percentages for lovers of short and dry climbs.
