The pretty medieval village of Saint-Didier-en-Velay has a beautiful market hall (or Grenette) dating from 1880, a 14th century fortified house and more generally beautiful stones which are worth a little detour.

This overflow of the Semène offers a charming place, ideal for a break by the water. The path borders the river and passes under an old house.

easy to drive bridge to get to the rise on the left side of the Loire

I grew up there in Unieux Pertuiset Throughout my youth with childhood friends during school holidays it was every day superb walks in summer and winter from Unieux to Saint-Victor sur Loire and back. in autumn when the Loire burst its banks the hike was impossible the road and the bridges were flooded. on the other hand during the flood we had to go to the grangeant dam because 3 out of 4 valves were open, it was impressive especially with the food supplies.
