Originally a priory was built in Estaing, successively dependent on the Saint-Amans monastery of Rodez, then in 1080 on the Saint-Victor abbey in Marseille and in 1087, on the Notre-Dame-de-l' abbey. The crypt, transformed into an ossuary in the 17th century, was emptied of the bones which were transferred to the new cemetery in 18922. Against the choir, at the south-east corner, a sacristy was added in the 19th century. In 2008, work allowed easy access to the crypt for visits, it having previously been accessible by a trapdoor from nave2. The church has been listed as a historic monument since December 29, 19274.
