Very beautiful and worth seeing village in the southwest of the French central massif. The local tourism information office has helpful tips and information. The castle is well worth seeing. The French pilgrimage route runs through the town.

Originally a priory was built in Estaing, successively dependent on the Saint-Amans monastery of Rodez, then in 1080 on the Saint-Victor abbey in Marseille and in 1087, on the Notre-Dame-de-l' abbey. Against the choir, at the south-east corner, a sacristy was added in the 19th century. In 2008, work allowed easy access to the crypt for visits, it having previously been accessible by a trapdoor from nave2. The church has been listed as a historic monument since December 29, 19274.
