Arriving at this point, the village of Les Arques takes shape and is worth exploring. You will notice in this region a glaring lack of vineyards. In 1865, an attack of phylloxera decimated all the vineyards of the region in just 12 years.

Here you will find the ruins of a 13th century Cistercian monastery, excavated in 2014, there is now an association dedicated to its survival for you to enjoy.

Small village perched above a valley surrounded by oak forests. It is also the place of adoption of the Russian sculptor Ossip Zadkine, who owned a house there and whose many sculptures can be found in the streets and in the small museum dedicated to him.

Lovely little village at the top of a short climb

Located between Cahors and Sarlat, Cazals in the Lot is well isolated. There are many chestnut groves in the country, and it is therefore quite natural that the chestnut, is with ceps, and foie gras, incorporated into the local gastronomy. The village has a body of water with a pretty beach. The route passes right next to it. Enjoy!

In this charming little town, you will find a campsite less than 500 meters from the town centre, at a place called Réquillou, as well as a bakery, butcher and small grocery store. The remains of the Pech Curet dolmen as well as the Lacoste castle are also to be seen on the communal grounds.
