La Chaux-Montgros Castle is a 16th century castle and a rare example of a building combining medieval and Renaissance styles, influenced by Italian art. You can admire its three towers, its elegant facade and its panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and forests. The castle is also the venue for various cultural events and activities, such as concerts, exhibitions and workshops.

You should definitely stop here to admire the views of Château de Buron, a ruined medieval castle perched on a volcanic peak. The castle was built in the 13th century and was once a stronghold of the counts of Auvergne. It was destroyed by fire in the 18th century and today only the surrounding wall and four round towers remain. You can access the castle by following a marked path from the village of Buron. It will take you around 30 minutes to reach the summit. From here you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Allier valley and the surrounding mountains. The castle is also a great place for bird watching, as you may be able to see birds of prey such as buzzards, kestrels or even eagles. Buron Castle is a place where you can immerse yourself in the past and admire the beauty of the present.

Montpeyroux is a charming village in the Puy-de-Dôme department, France, known for its blond sandstone houses and its medieval tower. Montpeyroux offers views of the Allier River, the vineyards and the volcanoes of Auvergne. A stop here is sure to disappoint and you should definitely head to the top of the tower to enjoy the breathtaking view.
