This is one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the Puy de Dôme. Just a few meters from the official starting point of the Puy de Dôme tour, you have a very clear view of the king of the puys.

On the Petit Puy de Dôme plateau

A very beautiful walk with lots of paths and trails in the undergrowth. No particular difficulties. However, be careful of two descents with rolling stones. We did this route the day after a storm and some places were muddy. I recommend this outing.

Magnificent scenery, soft but passable terrain at all times. Smile as there are many walkers.

Outing at the top of the varied and superb landscapes! Be careful however for outings at the end of winter: some sections are impassable because of mud, put on the studded tires of your gravel. Passages in the undergrowth on the last 15 km are complicated requiring you to carry the bike (fallen trees, difficult path...)

The Chemin des Crêtes, just outside Royat, offers views of the Puy de Dôme, one of the most iconic volcanoes in the Auvergne region. As you climb, the trail offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, including the Chaîne des Puys mountains, lush valleys and the city of Clermont-Ferrand in the distance.

This trail is very rolling and allows you to accelerate the pace for maximum speed. A few roots will force you to ride well, which adds a fun touch to this segment.

The starting point of the Puy de Dôme tour, at the car park, is an excellent choice for a mountain bike ride full of thrills. From the start of the route, you set off on varied trails that alternate between technical climbs and fun descents, with breathtaking views of the summit of the Puy de Dôme and the Puys mountain range. The terrain, sometimes rocky, will test your agility and endurance.
