Luc became famous in 1820 thanks to the pilgrims of La Délivrande and is known for its bathing establishment. Luc is firmly established as one of the leading seaside resorts on the Côte de Nacre. Its 1.8 km long dike is lined with small white cabins, the casino, the famous clock, and the thalassotherapy center.

THE SAILOR by Per Palle Storm was inaugurated on 7 June 2004 by His Majesty King Harald V of Norway The Royal Norwegian Navy took part in Operation Neptune on 6 June 1944 with the following ships: the destroyer STORD of the 23rd Destroyer Fleet the destroyer SVENNER of the 23rd Destroyer Fleet (torpedoed) the destroyer GLAISDALE of the 1st Destroyer Fleet (sunk) the corvettes EGLANTINE, ROSE and ACANTHUS of the B6 escort group the 52nd Minelayer Flotilla the patrol boat NORDKAPP The total strength was 1002 men, all ranks combined.
