Located in the middle of the forest in the woods overlooking the town of Saint-Victor-sur-Ouche, you can find the ruins of the Château de Marigny. I didn't dare go beyond the gate of the castle enclosure because it is marked "private property".

Carved into the cliff face of the Auvillard valley, it is accessed via a very steep path that leads to the cave's immense entrance. A small gallery extends this gigantic alcove, while several rock shelters decorate the surrounding area.

From September 18, 2023, the castle is open on Sundays only from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

It's not the highest point in the area, but it allows you to soar above the surroundings and appreciate the view, especially with Baume-la-Roche in the distance.

A 12th century fortress, this castle deserves to be visited. A monumental staircase and gardens make it an unmissable place.

From the top of these cliffs, the panoramic view is magnificent. The cliffs have a height of about 100 meters and a dizzying drop, so you have to be careful.

If you read the history of this castle, you will see that it was destroyed and rebuilt more often than not. This phoenix of flames is a real castle of interest. It looks great and you won't be disappointed if you stop there on your hike.
