very beautiful entrance to the Kervilly castle

Beautiful church from the early 19th century. The interior is currently undergoing major renovation, which is a shame about the view of the magnificent stained glass windows. Jointed stone walls, a few statuettes of Saints.

The Church of St. Mary, in neo-Gothic style, was built in 1882. The quadrangular tower, made entirely of granite, rises in three distinct floors. The porch is open on three sides by large pointed arches. It is decorated with blind arcades. The tower is surely the most beautiful architectural element of this church. The nave is paved with granite and covered with a light vault whose arches fall on columns engaged in the walls and doubled at the corners of the transept. A pretty openwork door adorns the confessional of the southern chapel.

The Saint-Tugdual church in Grand-Champ, in neo-Gothic style, has the shape of a Latin cross and is topped by an octagonal spire. The current church is a reconstruction in 1865 after the fall of the bell tower struck by lightning.

Grand-Champ is the seat of several centuries of history since the Neolithic. This small Breton village saw local lords build a number of chapels and manor houses during the 16th and 17th centuries. The Saint-Tugdal church in its center impresses with its neo-Gothic style.

This imposing gatehouse has marked the entrance to Kerfily Castle since the 17th century. Decorated with a gate and a postern, we can see on the battlements the arms of the families of the past owners of the castle. The castle is private and serves as a venue for events such as weddings.

This Saint-Michel chapel was dedicated to Archangel Michael. The name (from the Hebrew) means "Who is like God?". He is often shown - in paintings or as a statue - with a flaming sword, occasionally also a lance. Along with Raphael, Gabriel, and Uriel, Michael is one of the four archangels who rank highest (in human conception) in the heavenly hierarchy of angelic beings. Their common feast day in the calendar of saints is September 29th.

The castle of Trédion which is more a manor than a real castle belonged to the Duchy of Brittany. The Dukes of Brittany came to hunt there because a large forest area surrounds it. Its park designed with its irregular path, its artificial river, its waterfall, its basin, its pond as well as the vegetable garden and the orchard are registered in the pre-inventory of remarkable gardens. Nowadays this private domain can be reserved for weddings or other events like Breton dances.
