When leaving Paris along the Seine, I recommend crossing the left bank from Villeneuve Saint Georges. Industrial landscapes give way to wooded banks on the Coudray-Montceaux side. very nice bike path.

The Coudray-Montceaux lock offers lovely views over the Seine valley and the banks of the river at the level of Plessis-Chênet in Évry. It also takes a look at the city's industrial past. We see boats passing by and water flowing. The lock that you see dates from 2013 but it succeeds other constructions dating from the 19th century. They all had the same goal: to control the water level of the Seine to promote the circulation of boats.

This path laid out in the heart of the ponds, near the departmental domain of Montauger, allows you to jump from one islet to another thanks to its wooden footbridges. In the early morning or in the evening it is easy to observe the birds which hide there when the place becomes too crowded.
