Sedan (Land of heroic deeds) The Ardennes massif is followed by a vast plain where the Meuse flows peacefully. This border region was at the crossroads of numerous invasions. Cities were fortified, castles became impregnable. History left a very heavy mark here. In the south, the landscape becomes softer, with a string of soothing undulations, a stark contrast to the battle that was fought there in 1870, in 1814, in 1940. Triggered? This beautiful climb begins at the water's edge in the village of Poupehan and ends in the hamlet of Corbion. The road is not busy, the slope is not too difficult and best of all, there is almost no traffic.

Dun-sur-Meuse is a French commune in the Meuse department, in the Lorraine region. During the First World War, the upper city was largely destroyed. This bridge over the Meuse is one of the most beautiful monuments of this type in France. There are bronze balustrades on both sides of the bridge, with designs in the center and engraved plaques. It reminds French citizens and others, who will cross the bridge for years to come, of the passage of the Meuse. The crossing of the Meuse by the 5th Division was commanded by General John Pershing.
