Sedan (Land of heroic deeds) The Ardennes massif is followed by a vast plain where the Meuse flows peacefully. This border region was at the crossroads of numerous invasions. Cities were fortified, castles became impregnable. History left a very heavy mark here. In the south, the landscape becomes softer, with a string of soothing undulations, a stark contrast to the battle that was fought there in 1870, in 1814, in 1940. Triggered? This small town in the Ardennes is located at the confluence of the Chiers and the Meuse. The Eastern Canal also passes not far from its center where the Château de Remilly-Aillicourt is located, a private mansion built by a Sedan manufacturer in the 18th century.

This Gothic-style building dates from the 12th and 13th centuries and houses the relics of Saints Victor and Arnoul, who attracted many pilgrims in the Middle Ages.
