Discovered in 2004, it is the oldest dinosaur track site in the Jura arc. There are nearly 1,500 dinosaur footprints there. Largely protected, the site is free to access. Guided tours are organized in the summer to better understand the environment in which dinosaurs evolved 155 million years ago.

Located at the gates of the Haut-Jura regional natural park, Champagnole is also considered the “pearl of the Jura”. Perched at an altitude of 540 meters on the banks of the Ain, the town is located in a wonderful natural setting. There is also an archaeological museum due to the discovery of remains on Mont Rivel.

The Pont de l'Épée bridge spans the Ain river. When the sun is at its zenith, the color of the water is magnificent. The view of the river and the weir located downstream deserves a short break.
