A magnificent castle, with stunning gardens and a superb view of the Loire and its valley. Works of art are also displayed in the castle grounds, in addition to the gardens.

The trail leads through extensive vineyards. In Lussolt-sur-Loire, you can enjoy typical local food at the small Esperuette restaurant right along the trail. There are many small, living and dead, old wineries nearby. A must-see is the Château Le Clos Luce, where Leonardo da Vinci spent the last three years of his life. A beautiful tribute to his discoveries and achievements.

Park with catering, shady and beautiful

Candé-sur-Beuvron is a small, leafy village typical of Sologne. It's a must-see stop on the Loire Valley castle route. If you're looking for peace and quiet, you'll find them along the rivers that flow through Candé, as well as in its forests and vineyards. The village's restaurants offer local cuisine that will delight even the most discerning palates.

The little port is very pleasant. I recommend a visit to the castle for its magnificent garden.

A beautiful place – as you can see in the picture of the bridge, the rains in 2024 also drove driftwood in front of the bridge. Flooding has always been a problem here – the entire bridge has been completely submerged several times!

Even though boats nowadays have outboard motors, they are beautiful to look at.
