Very beautiful hike, quite difficult, it climbs steeply from the start. Superb view of the Pyrenees, mountains and the Basque coast. Variant on this route, going up, turn right before starting the ascent along the ridge line... easier. End of hike, poorly described with a return to the village very far from the fronton parking lot. D or my turn back at the end. Have a good hike 🥾🌶️⛰️

Mount Artzamendi is reached by a short but particularly demanding climb. From Laxia, the climb is 5.6 kilometers at an average of 11% with passages at 19%. At the top, the panorama of the Basque Country extends practically to the Atlantic coast.

Artzamendi rises to 924 meters above sea level, making it the highest point in the Labourd province. The “bear mountain” in Basque is identifiable by its large white ball which serves as a civilian radar station. This summit offers a very nice 360 degree panorama.

Culminating at 749 meters, Mondarrain is an iconic peak in the Basque Country. Its particular shape makes it easy to distinguish. The “Mount of Eagles” in Basque offers a magnificent view of the surrounding area including its neighbor, Artzamendi.

Mount Errebi culminates at 583 meters above sea level. This summit, which looks like a large grassy bump, dominates the village of Ainhoa and offers a pretty panorama of the Pyrenees chain and the Atlantic coast.

Very demanding climb with very hard sections from Espelette, recently paved, a shame, it was more fun before, but the effort of those 10 kilometres of climb is worth it for the views from the top, don't stop climbing!!

It is not nicknamed the Basque hell for nothing! Very difficult but beautiful
